Data Analyst · Business Intelligence · Research Analytics — Nairobi, Kenya

I turn messy data
into decisions that
actually matter.

I work across the full analytics lifecycle — ingestion, cleaning, statistical modelling, and dashboards — with a habit of reporting the honest finding over the impressive-sounding one. Recent work spans growth accounting, public-health tracking, and education-gap analysis across Africa.

About me

Recently graduated.
Already shipping.

I graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Software Engineering from African Leadership University in 2026, and I'm currently completing a BSc in Data Science & Analytics at USIU-Africa. Between coursework, a research fellowship, and founding an agri-tech platform, I've spent the last two years turning raw datasets into analysis people actually act on.

I'm based in Nairobi, open to remote work, and looking for a Data Analyst, BI, or Research Analyst role where the honest finding matters more than the impressive-sounding one.

Real questions, real data,
honest answers.

Three independent research projects — each with a reproducible pipeline, a documented methods table, and an explicit limitations section. No number here is invented.

Chart decomposing agricultural output growth into input growth and TFP growth, Sub-Saharan Africa vs world
Data Analysis · Economics

More Land or Better Farming?

Six decades of African agricultural growth, decomposed.
  • Sub-Saharan output grew 3.3%/yr in 2011–19 — faster than the world average.
  • But productivity (TFP) contributed just 0.01 points of that growth — effectively zero, vs 1.3 points for the world.
  • K-means typology splits 52 African countries into dynamic vs stagnant growers, plus a trend forecast to 2035.

The Child Survival Revolution, Unevenly Shared

Which African countries beat the child-mortality trend since 1990 — and why the SDG scoreboard was already written in 2015.
  • 43 of 54 African countries at least halved under-5 mortality since 1990.
  • Only 9 are on track for the SDG 3.2 target — and all 9 had already met it.
  • Benchmarked a gradient-boosting classifier against a single-feature baseline; both tied — reported the honest ceiling instead of overselling the ML.

Learning Poverty & the Completion Gap

Africa got children into school — did it get them through it?
  • Enrollment rose 71%→97% since 1990, but completion rose only 53%→69%.
  • The enrollment–completion gap widened from 18 to 28 percentage points.
  • Backtested 2030 forecasts: a naive persistence baseline beat both gradient boosting and a linear trend — simple won, and the README says so.
